All images in these series are printed on:

Hahnemuhle Museum Etching Mat 350gsm with Ultrachrome-Pro inks by Hahnemuhle certified Fine art printer.They have a 1,5cm white surround. The image size p/m is 17,7x24,3cm. Paper size 20,7x27,4 (this i.o.t lower mailing cost)

The cost per print is 65 euro excluding packaging and mailing. I can let you know the mailing cost when you confirm, indicating your location.

5. Memory of Shinoda

Shinoda has always impressed and inspired me with her sumi-e paintings and the elaborate methods she used to obtain the subtle nuances with her inks. This small painting (22,5x29,5cm) is in memory of Toko Shinoda, a truly great Japanese artist born in China in 1913. At the age of two she moved back to Japan with her family. Shinoda passed away at the age of 107 in March this year. She has since my art college days in Arnhem and Enschede been one of the artists close to my heart.

10. Meditation in Kyoto, Ryoanji

Pen/ink, Flashe, acrylic &Washi on paper. (The small version is an accurate representation of the print.) Total silence, sitting alone in the crisp cold air overlooking the garden. The raked patterns surrounding the rock islands. Trying to focus but strong memories surfacing bringing back my visit to the Shugakuin Imperial Villa, an amazing experience still engraved in my mind today.

Pen/ink, Flashe, acrylic & Washi on paper. Standing on the wooden platform overlooking Kyoto below with the misty hills in the background. A moment of silence with the Kiyomizudera Temple behind me. Thoughts wandering freely.
